Camkids’ main purpose is to help children in Cambodia who are either poor or whose parents are not there for them: orphans, street children, children living in poor rural areas and children affected by natural disasters, such as flood or famine. In a country where there is a high rate of child abandonment, They also support programs to help strengthen vulnerable families and keep them together.
Camkids has been the longest and most valued partner for NFO, and has supported us in many different ways in the past, present and what we hope to be the future. Camkids currently supply our local rural village school teacher’s salaries every month, along with monthly child sponsorship. They have been a key factor in the survival of NFO, and we owe them a lot of gratitude.
Project Little Dream began as a group of students. They are now a
charity that designs, builds and runs rural village schools in Takeo,
Cambodia. And with the support of people like all aroud the world, 630 Cambodian children are studying in the four schools they built.
They are currently still building schools in Takeo, although have took a more independent approach when it comes to the educational programs and up-keep of the buildings.
They are responsible for building several schools for NFO in the past- two of which are our best schools. Thun Mon and Kh’na Rong rural village schools.
Right to Smile is a Maltese NGO run by people, volunteers themselves, who have felt the magic of being on the projects, and who have been moved to continue contributing and receiving so much energy back. Right to Smile gives us a platform to be creative, to be part of a family of motivated and inspired individuals and to see our work manifest with the people we have come to love across the world. Their ultimate aim is for their input to eventually be providing minimal support and for the communities they work with to be self-sustained and empowered.
Right to Smile are NFO’s most recent partner, and have contributed so much in only a short period of time. 2016 was a good year for this partnership, are we saw 4 groups of over 10 volunteers visiting from their organisation. Each group dedicated 3 weeks to helping the Cambodia youth, through our projects. They have already 4 groups all fully booked and planned to arrive in mid to late 2017.
C.H.O.I.C.E (Charitable Humanitarian Organization In Cambodia by Expats).
is a registered Non-Profit Organization, founded by expatriates in 2006. The volunteer team strive to make a difference to the extremely poor and disadvantaged people of Cambodia. C.H.O.I.C.E classify the extreme poor as those Khmers who are homeless, or have no land and no adequate health-care, they do not have the resources to provide for themselves. CHOICE is driven by a very strong commitment to keep families together, rather than allow poverty to separate the children from their families and to prevent exploitation.
Back in the early days, CHOICE and NFO formed a strong bond, which has since faded away. CHOICE were responsible for the building of Ben Mao Rural Village School, which is still running well to this day.
After the UNTAC mission in Cambodia, one UNV, Ms. Mariko OKAMURA, organized an NGO called ASAC (Association of School Aid in Cambodia). She started this activity to see many children learning in new schools inaugurated with curiosity and smiles. ASAC completes school aid activity supported by many volunteers.
While very short lived, we would like to show our appreication to ASAC for offering us support. ASAC made two very generous donations to NFO. The money donated went towards the up-keep of two of our village schools.
