New Futures Organisation

New Futures Organisation is a not-for-profit organisation based in the town of Takeo in southern Cambodia. It is a proactive and progressive organisation that strives to benefit and improve the lives of Cambodians through self-empowerment.

NFO is actively involved in multiple projects, which include providing vocational training to poverty level youth, providing free education in rural communities along the Cambodian/Vietnam border, developing self-sustaining social enterprises and caring for orphans in the Takeo Province.

We work in partnership with local people and institutions and other NGOs to provide much-needed care, education, training, support and opportunities for the young people of the Takeo area.

We run a children’s home in which up to 50 children live, these children either have no parents, have come for instances of abuse or may have one living parent who lives in absolute poverty, and is unable to care for them making them economic orphans.

We also run several seven village schools in and around the Doun Keo district with some assistance from Camkids and Project little dream (See our projects section for more information).

What sets us apart from other organisations is that the children do not have to leave at age 18 and can stay in the orphanage until they finish school. Then NFO supports them to continue further education or training through its sponsorship program. We currently have 9 children studying at university in Phnom Penh.

We also aim to assist the local community by providing free English lessons to the local monks and police. These classes are run by our volunteers who also assist the village schools by proving native English speaking teachers to help run the classes as well as running extra English classes at the orphanage. Our volunteers also help with practical projects such as construction projects or by providing specific training amongst other things.
